More to the point they scrap the free bus pass to school kids in the London area unless they have to travel more than a certain distance to get to school. Some of these lardies get on for 1 or 2 stops and they wonder why there is a rise in obesity among young people.
The bus pass could stay as it is if councils charged say £50 a year for it. £1 a week is cheap for unlimited travel on buses tubes and trains.
Many people have 2 pensions and could well afford to contribute as not every pensioner lives on the bread line.
